Why does Wireshark enter dark mode for standard user but not root user?

On linux, when run as a standard user; Wireshark runs in dark mode.

When run as root, Wireshark runs in light mode, everything is white.

I really like the look of the dark mode that appears restricted to the standard user. Is there already a built in way to get the dark mode to display on the root user too?

(Took screen shots but am anon, so can't post them)

What happens if you run, as root, other applications that run in dark mode when you run them as a standard user?

Gentle reminder to not run as root

It's because of the system-wide theme!

And yes. I should create a wireshark user who has permissions to use the network interfaces.

I.e., running anything as root doesn't do dark mode, because of the system-wide theme?

If so, then, that's two reasons not to run as root....
