Process of adding protocol decodes in wireshark.

What is the process I should follow for wireshark to decode some protocols? Do I create a feature request? or Bugb?

Specifically, this is WIFI alliance protocol called Agile Multiband (MBO).

Current wireshark does not decode these packets properly, making it difficult to test and automate using wireshark.

I have the full specification that I can attach here (but I don't have enough "points").

This is urgently needed.

What version of Wireshark are you running?
Looks like it was added in this enhancement

Note these changes have not been back-ported to the stable version so will only be found (currently) in a 3.3.0-rc automated build or if you build yourself from master.

I tested latest stable version, and did not see it working. So, I was perplexed. With your message that it is in 3.3.0-rc-auktomated build folder, I verified it is working correctly. I tested build 3.3.0rc0-1872.
Thank You so much for responding so quickly! Wireshark is awesome!

When will this be merged into stable branch?

It won't, as the stable branch only get bug-fixes. When 3.4 becomes the stable branch it will be in that release.

See the wiki pages on Release Policy and LifeCycle for more info.

To answer the question about the process, see the wiki pages; Creating Patches and Submitting Patches, the Wireshark Developers Guide (WSDG) and the documentation in the source tree under the doc directory.

Note that a migration from Gerrit to GitLab is currently underway and the process using GitLab will be different. Documentation etc. is being modified as I write this.
