Data packets from mobile device not captured?

I would like to know whether data packets send from mobile phone or tab are captured by Wireshark or not.

When I use my app in WLAN environment(both devices are using same LAN network, mobile data is off), I don't see the exchange of packets within two devices in Wireshark though the action is taken on another device. That means another device receives the command send from my mobile.

Is there any way to capture such packets in Wireshark?
