How to monitor Wi-Fi communication?

I am using my PC as a proxy server for my iPad. I need to monitor the iPad's Wi-Fi activity, but do not know how to set up WireShark.

The capture setup for WLAN depends on a number of factors, not the least of which is the operating system on the capture PC as well as the hardware capabilities on that device. Your best place to start is probably with the WLAN (IEEE 802.11) capture setup wiki page.
