Hi, I have tried reinstalling Wireshark on my MacOS Sierra ver 10.12.6, and I get a popup every time I launch the app. Here is the message: Could not create profiles directory "/Users/Nick/.config/wireshark" I can do various things with the program still, but this is causing other problems when it comes to filtering and capturing. I'm very new to Wireshark and tried finding an answer elsewhere but couldn't find any. Please help!

I had this issue and discovered it was due to ~/.config being owned by root instead of current user. I changed the ownership of the file and the error went away.

sudo chown <username:group> ~/.config

Have you ever run Wireshark as root? If so, don't do so (look for "Privileges" there).
