Wireshark fails to start

`root@localhost:~# wireshark

qt.qpa.xcb: could not connect to display qt.qpa.plugin: Could not load the Qt platform plugin "xcb" i n "" even though it was found. This application failed to start because no Qt platform plug in could be initialized. Reinstalling the application may fi x this problem.

Available platform plugins are: eglfs, linuxfb, minimal, min imalegl, offscreen, vnc, xcb.

Aborted

How do i fix this?

You're doing it wrong, that is don't run Wireshark as root. See this blogpost for instance, or this enlightening piece.

Oh, being on SSH doesn't matter then? Tried running as a non superuser, exact same error It's prolly bc I'm SSHing into the machine that's running Linux lmao

It seems the issue is Wireshark needs something it doesn't have EDIT: Tried VNCing into it Same error What am I missing?

It still won't work I'm SSHing into the machine VNC got the same result I tried running rootless
