Asked some time ago on the old Q&A site, question here, AFAIK the answer's still the same.

The last time this was discussed on the mailing list was in July 2018; here's the first message in the thread discussing it. There was somewhat less opposition than in the thread pointed to by the old Q&A site, but it hasn't yet turned into "yes, let's do it".
