I like to monitor packets between two devices (no one ist the pc running wirshark) for example pc is 192.168.1.10 and i want to monitor packets between 192.168.1.7 and 192.168.1.8?

I try to troubleshoot why my wheather measuring device (wifi) is not communicating with my homematic gateway anymore, is this possible with wireshark?

Thank you in advance

It seems as you want to capture off machine WiFi traffic. This can be done, but depends on the capability of your PC's OS and WiFi hardware to be usable in "Monitor Mode". Note that this is rarely successful using Windows.

See the Wiki Page on WLAN Capturing for more info.

Yes, you'll need a hardware WiFi device that can provide traffic captures for Wireshark. It's possible that the weather sensor might not even be using WiFi but is instead using other forms of radio communication.

gain MITM-position between these two devices, for example with ettercap and let wireshark run: et voilà :)
