why does wireshark not show interfaces in windows 10

i tried to install wireshark but do not see the interfaces

Hello, Could you specify which version of Wireshark did you install, and the permissions for the libpcap,/dumpcap. Did you restart the Windows 10 Client after the installation? (not required always)

Can you copy and paste (highlight the text with the mouse) the contents of the Wireshark -> Help -> About Wireshark dialog (the Wireshark tab) and edit your question with that text.

From your Help text: Running on ... without Npcap or WinPcap ....

The following should get you going again:

  1. Stop Wireshark and anything else using npcap.
  2. Uninstall npcap.
  3. Reboot.
  4. Install npcap 0.996 (latest as of writing this).
